TUPHOLME ABBEY

12 July 2013 on News by johnpaulwalker

We had a fascinating, if very long and windy, day surveying Tupholme Abbey in Lincolnshire, for the  Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire. The abbey dates back to the 12th century as a home to a Premonstratensian community, now only a ruinous wall remains which is a designated Scheduled Monument. Leaving no stone unturned (of course a figure of speech, this was a non-intrusive survey) John-Paul used the 15m high Spiderlift to access the top of the walls. We hope to carry out consolidation and repair works later in the year.
